肠道不仅是人体食物消化吸收的器官系统,也是人体最大的内分泌器官和免疫器官。肠道内的各个系统相互协作,以此来维持正常的代谢调控和免疫防御。肠道的多种功能受神经系统的调节。调控肠道功能的神经系统包括肠道外部神经(交感,副交感系统)和肠道内神经系统。哺乳动物的肠道内神经系统由数以百万记的神经元和神经胶质细胞有机结合而成。这个神经网络由感觉神经元,中间神经元和运动神经元组成,彼此形成功能性连接,在很大程度上能独立调节肠道的多种功能,因此又被成为“肠道的大脑”或“第二大脑”。肠道内神经系统和消化道疾病,代谢病,食物过敏息息相关。最近研究表明,肠道内神经系统和大脑在功能上相互协调,形成“肠脑轴”。
本课题组将以小鼠作为模式生物,利用多组学分析手段,开发新型病毒标记方法,结合神经生理和成像手段对肠道神经生物学和肠脑连接的发育,基本功能模块和在代谢调控,免疫防御等的基础性科学问题进行研究和攻关,并结合临床病人样品进一步研究人类肠道疾病相关的神经生物学调控机制,开发相应药物靶点和治疗手段。
